Is one allowed to take the LSAT more than once?

Yes, you are "allowed" to take the LSAT more than once. You are not allowed to take it more than 3 times in a 2 year period. However, you should approach the LSAT with the mindset that you are only going to do it once and do well that one time.

Many law schools claim, at least, that they will average your LSAT scores from multiple sittings -- in other words, every two points that you improve only "buys" you one point. The situation becomes more "uphill" with subsequent administrations.

This is a far cry from undergrad, where many schools at least claim that they will consider only your highest score.
