Is Orange a proper 'College Town'

I'm an international student so I unfortunately haven't been able to visit Orange/Orange County, but I'm wondering if the town has that typical college town feel to it.

Are there lots of things for students to do nearby? I won't have a car, so activities within walking distance are pretty much essential. I'm not expecting the town to be over-run with students, but it would be nice to know there are a number of activites for students and places to hang out etc.

Also, what is the nightlife like in the area? Are there many bars to go to, things like that? Or does most of the nightlife/socialising/partying take place on campus?

Thanks in advance

I like to think it is. You do not need a car, you can walk around Old Town Orange. The actual City of Orange is pretty big, although there is a decent bus route that would really make transportation pretty easy.
Nightlife wise, it’s a bit on the quiet side. You need to go into Anaheim, maybe Downtown Disney for that (10 minutes away).
Pretty sure there are bars right off campus in Old Town

I only had a brief visit, but the little round-about in Orange is really cute (is that downtown-Orange?). I would have enjoyed hanging out there if the actual school had been right for me. Chapman as a school is really beautiful, though small. The dorms are kind of across the street and it’s surrounded by residentials and relatively a lot of trees (according to what I’m used to).

Apparently it’s very common to buy a Disney Land year-long pass. That’s where you’re likely to go to hang out. :)
