is P.E actually counted as a class? Or does it change in every high school? I know that in UC's (i live in cali) they dont include it while calculating GPA but im asking whether the high school includes it (which determines rank)

Colleges generally ignore P.E.

At your school it probably will be. I lost my 4.0 when I got a B in gym.

It does at my school. And that is why my GPA is not very good.

Depends on the school. Mine doesn’t, but then again PE is graded P/F.

Mine does yes. But from what I heard when colleges recalculate your GPA they don’t include P.E, for better or for worst I guess.

Keep in mind that not all colleges recalculate GPA (for example, the [University of Michigan]('U' to no longer recalculate GPA in admissions process)). Some schools will just sort of eyeball your transcript to see what kind of grades you got, and they usually pay more attention to core academic classes. This is what it says in the article I linked to:

Again, if you’ve been given a letter grade for gym, it’s probably included in the GPA your school calculates. This really only matters in the context of class rank because selective colleges generally won’t take your GPA at face value (they look at your individual grades and course rigor relative to the opportunities you had at your school).
