Is Penn ED restrictive?

Yes, I know that ED is binding, but that's not what I'm asking. I'm wondering if I would be able to apply ED to Penn and EA to other schools at the same time, because it's a little unclear on the website.

I believe you can apply particularly if its a state school and you need to apply early for honors college consideration or scholarship consideration. However, all the schools that are Single Choice EA are not allowed.

Don’t go by me exactly though. Call admissions.

You can simultaneously apply to ANY other nonrestrictive (i.e., NOT single-choice) EA program, but you must withdraw those EA applications (and any RD applications you may have filed) if you are accepted to Penn ED.

45 Percenter is right. This past fall, I applied ED to Penn and EA to MIT, which was completely okay with both admissions offices (believe me, I called and asked). I was accepted by Penn and deferred by MIT. Penn told me to rescind my application from MIT and I paid my deposit within the week.
