Dont get me wrong, I love parties and I love excessive drinking, but I also like to just relax and chill with people (whether or not alcohol is there doesnt matter). So my question is on weekends do groups of people ever just chill or hang out in a dorm/apartment or is EVERY social function a party. Im not really interested in latenight penn state or any random activities. Its just that there are times where I still want to hang out in a social environment and drink or whatever but not be at a party every night of my college life? Is this possible or am i kidding myself?

For guys: lots and lots of gaming in the dorms with other students/ no drinking; lots of throw together volleyball, football, basketball etc. Heavy drinking at the frat parties but you can go and not drink and leave when it becomes obnoxious. You will find a group of friends like yourself. Leave your dorm room door open and stop in others dorm rooms to say hi.

It might seem like everyone is a drinking maniac because they are loud and everywhere but there are thousands of kids there who want the same thing you are talking about. You will find your crew.

Oh, and for all those who don't know an underage drinking citation at PSU(drinking any amt. of alcohol and getting busted) results in loss of your drivers license for 3 months.Yes, even if you are no where near a car. That my friends has to be reported often times on insurance applications and even some job applications. Ughh...be forewarned.

i heard parties at east halls are hardcore

I think the best parties your fr & soph year are at the fraternities. Some apartment parties are fun, but the fraternities are a whole different level. You definitely do not have to party every night, but you always can if you feel like you want to.

PSU is such a big school that it has something for everyone. I like you did not want to party that much. This was years ago when it was more popular to party. I hung out with the nerds.
