is petE related to ChemE?

I am half way through my petE degree, but i have been thinking of going to nanotechnology for grad school. obviously petroleum isn't related so i doubt i'd get accepted.

option A:

double major in physics (would cause me to take summer classes, and 1 extra year of studies)
I am starting to not be fond of the summer classes, as i need to work full time. but will do it if it will help me.

option b:

I have found a transitional program from RELATED engineering programs into chemical engineering. (1 year of studies, its across country though).

so is petE enough of a related field to chemE that i can do the transitional program then continue into nanotech?

Petroleum is definitely related to ChemE but I don’t see why you can’t just finish your degree and apply for an advanced degree in ChemE (or Physics/Chem) instead if you want to get into nanotech.

How about this option c:
Finish your degree and take the core ChemE classes as electives.
Apply for ChemE graduate school and take the missing classes there.

I like option c.
