Is Pitt harder to get into than Ohio State?

I have recently been admitted to Pitt, but I am worried that’s i will not get into my top choice school, which is Ohio State. I live in Ohio if that makes a difference. So yeah, which is a tougher school to get into?

Do you have access to Naviance? It’ll give you a better idea of your chances than general admission rates.

Pitt admits by school so getting into Dietrich is easier than Swanson so it depends.

IMO not really for public Us which are more focused on stats. I agree that colleges within the U may be different.

Pitt has a 54% acceptance rate, OSU is 49%
Pitt’s ACT spread is 26-31, OSUs is 27-31

IMO they are comparable.

I would say Pitt engineering is harder to get in. My son’s buddy got accepted to OSU but has to turn in mid-year grades before Pitt will make decision. My son got the same letter, however, we are waiting to hear from OSU still. We didn’t realize it was as competative as it is. We are in OH so he would need merit scholarship as well and if he is on the bubble with getting accepted, I doubt he will get merit aid. 33 ACT, 3.9GPA
