NO, PCC is required for Passport,
F1 Visa only requires an appointment. You have to be there with your educational qualifications and passport and the I-20 doc your school gave you. You can book the appointment anytime.

@peepingtom i already have a passport…and are u really really sure about PCC thing ??

yes, I’m sure. Why would VISA require PCC? It doesn’t make sense. Did you apply for passport under the “tatkal” scheme?

no I have passport from last year. I didn’t do any tatkal scheme, passport was issued after police verification.

Actually, Canadian Embassy asks for PCC for student visa, that’s why I asked the question.

EDIT: @peepingtom

You have a passport, that means that you’ve passed the PCC, that’s it! Why not mail the embassy and ask?

firstly colleges wouldn’t have accepted you if you ever went to juvie coz there is a section in the common app
which asks you if you ever convicted .

@savemylife thats right but common app has nothing to do with embassy. embassies have their own background checks. but that wouldn’t be a problem cuz my record is clean.

@peepingtom okay, i’ll ask embassy itself and will post here.

@indstnd you do that. and which college are you attending? Did you use Common App to apply to Canadian universities?
