Is Poly-NYU getting more competitive?

Hi, I am really interested applying to poly nyu as it is one of my top schools. I feel like I do not reach and I've heard that they are getting more competitive. If you'd like, I'll post my stats and I do not want to waste any chances of getting rejected. I am an above average student and feel like my stats will not get me to Poly NYU.

Also, is it safer to go for RD or ED II? If I get accepted into Poly NYU I will most likely attend it as it is my #1 school I am aiming for. Should I go for the risk as I am showing my loyalty to that school or be the 99% who will most likely go for the RD? Thanks so much!

Basic jist of my academics:

Interested Major: Computer Science
Female, Asian, NY, Public School ranked #24 best public HS

3.7-3.8 W GPA
Took APUSH
Did horrible on my SATS (1600), Retaking OCT (aiming for 1800-2000)
Relevant Courses: Engineering, Robotics Team, Concert Choir, AP US, AP Chemistry, AP Literature and Composition, Honors Spanish, Honors Global, Honors English, Virtual Enterprise

Rank: N/A as of yet (probably upper 15-20%)

National Honors Society Member

Extracurriculars
Peer Tutor at an Afterschool Program (100hrs+)
Church volunteer and outreach (40hrs+)
Baker's assistant (175hrs+)

clubs:
Filipino club, christian club, ... more forgot to mention

High match, low match or reach?

I would say a reach just because your SAT scores are pretty low. What did you score on the APs? And how is your strength of curriculum compared to the rest of the schools?

The maximum number of Aps you can get in a year is 3 I believe and you need atleast 90+ in the class to get into Ap. So I would say it’s pretty selective. Any other thoughts guys? Any alternatives to best schools in NYC? I want to stay in the city and the only choice I want is to get into Poly-NYU. If I don’t get in, I would be pretty bummed…

Thread Bump

I need another bump…

Please, I would appreciate some help…

I got in with about the same grades, 3.7GPA and 1640 on SAT, but I was put into the General Studies Program. I didn’t too well enough on any APs to receive credit on them and I had a solid amount of community service. I had a lot of different clubs, honors, volunteer work, etc., but I didn’t do as many hours you did.

I think you should still apply, overall your academics look better than mine, and you’ll regret it if you would’ve been able to get in and didn’t apply.

@pl0824 Thanks so much for responding! I do have a few questions to ask you Is the Poly campus still good though in your honest opinion? Are you still in the general studies program or did you want to major in CS? And when did you apply to poly? Thanks so much :)
