Ive wanted to be a doctor all my life, but now as a high school senior im starting to realize the insane amount of time/work itd take to be a doctor. I have pretty good grades, 31 act/4.3 gpa, and am taking ap chem and enjoying it, but idk if i should do medicine with the long hours/hard college work. Im not trying to whine, but can someone explain how med might be better than, say, business? Thanks.

yeah i have been looking into this issue as well, seeing as the future of doctors doesn't seem so great....it is a lot of work and you should only be pursuing medicine if you are like 120% sure that is the field you LOVE and can't imagine doing anything else...other than that, you can always do something like pharmacy or PA, but it depends if you like it...if you have time, try researching and looking up different fields...who knows, you might might something else of interest

You can be any major in UG, there are engineers, musicians, Latin major, business,... whatever. You just need to complete Med. school reguirements to apply to Med. School. If you like Chemistry, you can have Chemistry or Chemical Engineering as a major and decide later about Med. School.
