I took the SAT in March and got 1890. I self studied and took it in June and got 1890 again (a 1940 super scoring it). I really need to break into the 2000s. There is a PR course that is $850 (with a $150 discount for signing up early). The course also has a 150 point minimum increase gauruntee or they will give me my money back. Any suggestions? And does anyone know if they definitely would give me my money back?

I assume you are talking about the Princeton Review Ultimate Course. Don’t take it. They set you up with 2 books (1 Manual, 11 PTs for the SAT). The course is fine but you aren’t always guaranteed a good tutor. I improved 200 points on practice tests but it didn’t really matter since my goal wasn’t met throughout the course.

It was the biggest mistake I made. If you are upset about your SAT score, don’t worry. Improvement takes time and dedication. I assume you were in school which can be a bit troublesome for some students, especially considering extracurricular activities and AP classes. With your money now, buy books aimed at the SAT. You will need the Blue Book if you haven’t already bought it. 10 Practice Tests isn’t enough though. Try getting books aimed at each section. For math, I use PWN the SAT: Math Guide. Check out the sticky. A lot of the guides it contains are VERY VERY helpful. After all, you can’t get better at a test unless you know it by heart.

I probably wouldn’t, since there are cheaper alternatives to private tutoring that can work just as well.
