Is Priority Wait list Legally Binding in Anyway?

Is priority wait list legally binding in anyway? Let's say that you accepted the priority wait list, and when they offered you admission from the wait list you accepted. Later, if another college at which you were wait listed accepted you, can you not go to cmu? Do you just lose your deposit, or is it legally binding?

I only got into RPI outright, and was wait listed at CMU, Amherst, and Cornell. I don't feel that I am violating the spirit of the priority wait list since if I don't get into CMU then I would have to go to RPI, which isn't exactly a top college.

I heard Pri-Wait was like ED-ing.. so I want to say yes…
