I am asking because I am contemplating between UCLA and UC Davis for psychology. I plan to go to grad school and I hope to keep my GPA above a 3.85 + to be competitive for a PhD program.

Will it be easier to get a high GPA at UCLA or UC Davis? Also, will it be easier to get research positions at UCLA or UC Davis? I understand that undergrad prestige isnt really that important for grad school admissions. All they care about is your GPA, GRE test scores, Letters of Recommendation, Research experience, internships and field work.

Thank you.

I have no idea if one UC is easier than the other but I’d say examine the programs themselves very carefully and see which one appeals to you more. I think you’ll do well in a school where you’re happy with the program (among other things), and the level of easiness is subjective.

I hope this doesn’t sound mean… but a lot of your questions or the advice you seek pertains to very subjective thinking and impossible experience.

I really doubt that anyone can tell you for certain that either school is easier and even if they did, it wouldn’t convince you.

You’ve also asked on numerous occasions if this school or that school is a party school (especially UCLA). UCLA is one of the last schools I’ve ever heard of as being referred to as a “party school.” I understand you are just trying to ease your and your parent’s concerns, but it is mostly going to be dependent on the type of student YOU choose to be.

Good luck and I really don’t think you should be worrying about all of these things so much!
