I took a General Psychology class and a Behavioral Psychology class at a community college during my junior year/ past summer. I have also written some research papers based on psychology experiments that I have done (though they haven't gotten acclaim, they are just posted on a personal website). Do you think if I list psychology as my major it will hurt my chances for admission since so many people are psychology majors? Also, do you think the research articles I have written will help me in the admissions process even if they have not gotten recognition? Thanks.

It is not usually a hard major to get into.

I do not think research papers written without supervision will have any impact on your application aside from indicating your interests.

Thanks, by “research paper” I really mean something like a “science experiment.” My brother who attends Princeton as a CS major demonstrated his passion by creating an iPhone app that had over 200000 downloads and was featured in the local newspaper. For psychology I feel it is more difficult for me to convey my passion for this field. Do you have any tips on how to show how I am interested in this subject? Thanks.
