Is Purdue University a good school for an undergrad?

I'm thinking of majoring in finance.

I was thinking of applying as a undergrad to Purdue. I just want to know if its a good school for an undergrad thinking of majoring in finance.

I know that its not as good as U of Chicago or Havard but I have to be realistic, academic wise and money wise.

Also, if you can answer What do you think of Purdue compared to U of Maryland College Park?

Purdue is a good school. There are higher ranked schools, of course, and there are many that are ranked lower.

Both Purdue and Maryland are very comparable in terms of ranking, both #56 overall and #19 in business. Maryland is probably ranked higher in finance (#25), whereas Purdue’s strengths in business are in MIS, operations, logistics/supply chain, etc.

If you’re in Indiana, also consider the Kelly School at IU; though admission is more competitive, the Kelly School is ranked higher — #10 in undergrad business overall, #9 in finance. Overall, in general university rankings, Purdue is ranked higher than IU, however.

Are you instate for Indiana?

If so, then apply to IU…Kelley.

Purdue has a good b-school, too.

However, if you’re not instate for Indiana, will your parents pay the OOS costs to go to either school?

I’m applying as out of state for purdue if i choose to apply there. I also count as an international student.
