I applied to several schools as a poli sci major, but I'm thinking of switching to a business management major because it could help me as I aspire to be a corporate lawyer.

Now I got accepted into several schools, (syracuse, purdue, uiuc-but no aid/scholarship so i can't go there, u of pitt, and i'm hoping for uc davis, and i'm not expecting carnegie mellon and nyu, but i applied there anyways).

Now several sources, though not most, rank Purdue's Krannert (school of management) really highly. USNEWS ranks it 21st in its total undergraduate program, and 31st in its total graduate program:

Krannert School of Management - Rankings

Another source, though I forgot the link, said that employers in the mid-west ranked Purdue's management school as number 1 in the area, above that of IU and Notre Dame (though USNEWS ranks those schools higher than Purdue).

But Business Week contradicted this ranking, and ranked the undergrad program 61st. This is weird though...how can it be ranked so highly by one source, and so low by another? :/

I've talked to several people in the management department at Purdue, and they say that it is top notch. They said that it is often overshadowed and unheard of, because 1.) Purdue is mostly an engineering and pharmacy school 2.) the other local schools, IU and Notre Dame have better(well, more famous and well heard of) business programs. But still, they think that Purdue's business program is one of the best in the nation.

What do you guys think? If this is the case, if I don't get into NYU or Mellon, I think I'll go to Purdue and major in business probably. If it is really that go, I won't waste the opportunity. The consensus that the business majors at Purdue have come is that, although Purdue's business program is VERY good, it's not that well known across the United States in general.
