Is religion an issue at Georgetown?

Since it is a Catholic university, are students who are not Catholic (or religious) at a disadvantage? Do they ever feel uncomfortable or "different?"

Only 42% of the student body is Catholic. Unless you want it to play a larger role, the biggest impact Georgetown's Catholic identity would have on your experience here is the requirement of two courses in theology, either Problem of God or Bib. Lit. and an upper-level course. Honestly, it's very easy to forget sometimes that Georgetown is a Catholic school. So a big No to both questions.

When we visited they no longer had crucifixes on the walls! Unlike ND, HC and others, they went out of their way to tell everyone that it was ok if you were of another faith. Maybe it isn't a catholic school anymore!

I'm not sure what classrooms you saw, because all the ones that I have class in do have crucifixes on the wall.

Religion is as important as you want it to be. It's a wonderful community if you want to be a part of it, but if you don't, you will barely even notice any religion.
