Is Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute good for Masters in Mechanical Engineering

I am an international student and I recently got admitted to the university. I am still in two minds about accepting the offer. The college seems like a good fit but the tuition is pretty high. Can someone please tell me more about the college, the job opportunities and the general reputation of RPI in the industry. My concentration is Mechanical Design. Being an international student, I wanted to get a perspective from someone who might know this better and understands the reputation of RPI in US. I just need a second opinion on whether the investment is worth while.

Thanks in Advance.

RPI’s mechanical engineering graduate program is ranked #24 in the United States out of thousands of engineering colleges. In terms of job opportunities, RPI is top six in the nation in terms of the median salaries of recent alumni - higher than almost every Ivy League school. The reputation is very good in industry, but for engineering and science disciplines.

Yes, RPI is expensive and they are enjoying the fluid finances of many internationals such as yourself to pay the very expensive bills. You will be in good company among internationals there and may like that aspect of the school. RPI is a great school for Engineering and you will be highly employable upon graduation. You can’t go wrong assuming you can afford it.
