is retaking to qualify for NMF worth it?

I got a 235 on my PSAT, and a 2310 on the March SAT I.

I know I could get NMF with some work...
but is it really worth the work--and the trauma of testing again?

Also, will I still qualify for NMSF if I don't retake? There is some confusion on this topic.

you will absolutely qualify without a retake.

shut up. you will get it. isn't it 235...out of 240?? Now, it's more important to make sure your GPA and EC's are all in order :)

But still.... your PSAT is higher than your SAT. Retake your SAT I not for the sake of NMF, but of college admissions. Don't believe anyone here who tells you "Oh noes!! 2310 is enough!!" No, there's a difference between 2310 and say, if you get 2360. There is a difference.

You can only be a national merit semifinalist by getting a high enough score on the PSAT your junior year. The SAT doesn't affect it. Becoming a finalist entails some essays and letters of recommendation and the like.

Oh and you'll have no problem being a semifinalist with a 235, as long as you are a junior.

similar situation....but with a larger difference in scores.

232 vs. 2230....do i need to retake to qualify for national merit? i mean i was planning to anyway, but i want to wait till october.

You'll definantly get in. You too farralcious
