Is rice 48 or 51k a year?

I'm seeing different numbers everywhere. Can anybody help clarify this?

48, but that includes an estimate on books and personal expenses etc

[Financial Aid at Rice University](http://financialaid.rice.edu/main.aspx?id=46)

That’s for 2010-2011 though. Any info on the 2011-2012 year?

[Tuition Increase Article in the Thresher](http://www.ricethresher.org/news/tuition-increases-for-incoming-rice-students-1.2114136</a>)

My D’s acceptance package says $47,800 for 2011-2012. That includes Room&Board and fees. It is still a good $10,000 less than any of the other private schools D looked at.

And then I have another paper that says 51 with tuition being close to 35k.

what paper is this?

^I got that paper too in my admissions packet that says Rice is 51K per year, with tuition (34,900), r&b (12,270), fees, o-week, books and supplies, personal expenses, and transportation included.

No it is definitely $48. Called the admissions office and they confirmed that the $48 includes EVERYTHING, O-week, books, personal expenses, r&b etc…

Looks like closer to $51K for 2011-12, according to the Rice web site (Cashier’s Office).

Here’s the link:

[Tuition & Fees : Rice University](http://www.students.rice.edu/students/Tuition_Fees.asp?SnID=2051790947)

And here are the numbers:

Tuition $34,900
R&B $12,300
Fees $ 651
OWeek $ 505

TOTAL $48,356

That’s the cost WITHOUT Books and Personal Expenses. Add those in, and it’s $51K.

Insurance is not included in the above either (if needed)
