Is Ross Pre-Admit a risk?

I'm considering applying Ross Pre-Admit, but am a little weary about focusing my entire supplemental essay on Ross. If I'm not a perfect candidate for the program, would this hurt my chances for admission to Michigan itself (because LSA is not mentioned in the essay)? I don't want to risk my chance at the university as a whole by trying to apply to this program. Or is there no risk at all?

Here are my stats:

Essays: good
Teacher Recs: outstanding, say best student they've ever had
Hook: none really, other than being a female if that makes a difference?
Concerns: not taking calc BC..gah horrible decision. But hopefully they'll see stats and physics as well.

Its not a risk. Unless the quality of your essay is horrible, you are a strong match for LSA. The focus of your essay will matter little. If you are very interested in the Ross pre-admit, it makes sense to focus your essay that direction. The pre-admit is chancey for anyone but you still look to have a fairly reasonable shot there too. Although I say that w/o knowing your unweighted GPA.

It’s not a risk at all, LSA just will disregard that essay and focus on the others (general essay and community thing).
