is Rutgers intense?

i heard that it's relatively hard to get good grades in most state universities.
how about Rutgers? i know it's up to each one of us but just wonder....
have you seen any grade-inflation or grade-deflation ??

Depends heavily on major.

i’m gonna major in Political Science

well considering that rutgers has a kind of lenient grade-point system ie anything in the A range, including A minuses count as 4.0s, B+ = 3.5, and B and B- = 3.0, it’s not terrible. engineering and pharm are pretty intense though.

and a lot of the difficulty comes with the teacher that you get, especially in a liberal field such as polisci. and a lot of the intro math and science classes are notoriously difficult ie the precalc exam I’ve heard many times has the highest failing rate in the u. and gen chem is pretty tough as well. these classes do have generous curves though, so keep that in mind. but a lot of people tend to just depend on the curve to save them, but you have to learn the material in your classes; don’t just depend on the fact that everyone else might do worse than you.

best of luck.
