And if they have a pre-med major, is it great? Is the school good? does it have a great reputation in academics?

Yes. No – no American university has a “pre-med” major. Yes. Yes.

For US med schools, applicants can major in anything as long as they fulfill certain pre-reqs and score well on the MCAT.

Yes, Rutgers is a top 25 public school. The colleges are pretty much divided by campus, so it doesn’t feel as large as what someone would expect. New Brunswick is a great town, with easy access to NY city…and of course, good sports team, school spirit, good facilities. You need to make a visit to find the right fit.

And Rutgers Biology department is pretty good too (potential pre-med).
Of course, any public university is going to be different from a smaller private but everyone can find their place.

If I’m not mistaken, Rutgers was invited to the Ivy League way back when. They turned it down, which opened the door for Cornell.

Just a little trivia. Not really relevant to the OP’s question. :)

If your from NJ,Rutgers gets little respect…good sports program? No…great sports facilities? YES…paying exorbitant salaries to football coach and AD? YES…
