I'm really interested in Pennstate's Honor College, but I constantly read that Schreyers is good in the engineering area. How about for students that major in Psychology? Also how good are the connections, honestly? I also hear that PSU offers a lot of opportunities as well as having the biggest alumni system(?) And Schreyers do even more when it comes to connections and that a lot of people have gotten into Ivy league med schools.

Opportunities here are absolutely insane, you basically have first pick on everything, including scheduling, even before seniors. You get first-choice access to the limitless opportunities provided to the entire college. I cannot recommend applying enough. I’m not a psych major but I am in the liberal arts, and I have friends who are psych majors and they seem very happy, and there are many opportunities offered for my programs (international politics/economics). A cool perk of being in the liberal arts (which psych is), you are automatically dually enrolled in the Liberal Arts Paterno Fellows program, which has even more awesome opportunities. Can not recommend this school enough, I am so happy here!

Schreyers is quite good, among the best honors colleges at flagships. It’s the real deal. It’s also quite expensive even if you’re in-state. SUNY Binghamton would almost be cheaper for a PA resident. Many other flagships for someone with a Schreyers resumé would be less expensive when you roll in OOS tuition waivers or automatic scholarships.
