Scripps: High match (it’s within grasp)

What’s your backup plan?

Maybe Kenyon or Emerson. I’m applying to a lot of schools and I love them all. Scripps just really stood out. Thanks for giving your opinion!

Kenyon: Match
Emerson: Low match

When you say High/Low, you are referring to difficulty?

I think it is an indicator of difficulty, yes, with a low match being easier to get in than a high match.

Okay! Thanks. I’m currently waiting for Emerson’s decision. I would have applied early decision to Scripps, but my school wasn’t comfortable with signing the ED forms.

@jleefire, I don’t know much about Emerson or Kenyon, but I know lots about Scripps. I think you have a pretty stable shot at getting in. Your ACT/GPA is acceptable, and you ECs/awards look nice. If those recs and essays were unique and well-written, you should be set. Good luck! Hope to see you on campus next year, perhaps? <3

Hi everyone, I’m a senior at Scripps.

@jleefire. You sound like a very great match for Scripps and our school would be lucky to have you. Scripps puts a lot of emphasis on personal essays as well as an interview if you had a chance to go through one. Grades and scores are also, of course, important. But nothing is the be-all-end-all for Scripps admissions. Scripps has a very holistic approach to admissions and everything is usually weighted very equally.

This all being said, I cannot say that you are guaranteed a spot at Scripps, even though you seem like an absolutely amazing young woman and student. There are so many applicants who are also very qualified. Make sure you have some back ups that you would actually enjoy going to and would be happy at. I don’t believe there is only one school for someone, but I do think there are many schools that are a better fit for someone than others.

Just a heads up! I think you would make a great addition to the Scripps community and I wish you the best of luck! It seems that you are a very high match.
