Is self-plagiarism a serious issue?

<p>I've written a few essays and posted them on my blog. There's this post in particular that I really like, and I'd like to use a few phrases from it to answer one of the personal statement prompts, but I know admissions use programs like TurnItIn to screen out plagiarized material.</p>

<p>I have my name under each post of my blog, if that would make a difference.</p>

<p>Yes, but it’s been reblogged by others, so the material exists on their blogs (though it’s still under my name).</p>
