Is self-studying the SAT physics subject test doable?

I have a lot of time on my hands and was thinking about self studying a couple SAT IIs before applying to college this fall. I took physics in high school and did well, but that was over three years ago.

What resources would you guys recommend for a barney style approach to self study assuming I know nothing?

DS is taking SAT Physics and SAT Chem this coming Saturday. He took AP Phys 1 last year and did well in it. For the subj tests we bought a book that had two tests in them. He took them both and made 800s so hopefully he can repeat.

There do not seem to be as many questions from prior tests floating around to practice on for the Subj tests…good luck!!

Self study, as in you didn’t take the course? Why? Adcoms value the course, not the shortcut to a score.

Ahhh. Sorry.

@yearstogo
Do you recall the names of those prep books?

The books were purchased off of the college board website and named something like “The Official SAT Subject Test…”

It’s certainly doable but it depends on which subject tests you’d be taking. History ones tend to be easier but you should brush up on classes like physics if you haven’t taken them in a while
