is senior year easier or harder?

do people find senior year to be more difficult? even i you're not there yet, what have you heard? no one seems to know that i ask. would you say its more stressful, or about equal?do things lighten up after january?

At my school its supposed to be harder.

yeah…thats what some people tell me. ugh.

harder by far

For me, it was easier than junior year, but only because I knew how to handle large amounts of work and avoid putting myself in stressful situations. Fall semester was a lot of work, what with juggling the usual along with college apps and essays, but after that it was just ridiculously easy.

I feel like that greatly depends on how much work you put in your junior year. I was juggling 5 ap’s, taking the ACT/SAT/SAT II’s/AP tests, and extracurriculars (not unusual on CC of course though :P), so my senior year should be ridiculously easy in comparison.

^exactly same situation for me.
My senior year, i only have 3 AP’s but this time im gonna go all out on my EC’s (debate, quiz bowl, and doing research–as winning awards, or getting more publications in). This is why i took 3 AP’s.
OP–i suggest you do the same. If you’re taking 5+ Senior w/ less focus on EC’s, you’re making a big mistake.

Well I know that the first semester for me will be the hardest because of college apps and all those APs.
But it’s a vacation for those who don’t care anymore and take all the easy classes.

I’ve heard from some that it is easier, and some that it is harder.
I’m hoping easier… Junior year was HELL!
First day of Senior year tomorrow!!! Class of '11!

Without college applications, senior year would probably be easier. I think it really just depends on how many colleges you’re applying to. I’m only doing 6-7 so shouldn’t be too much extra work.

Depends. Some people will still have to worry about SATs/ACTs as well as college apps, making the first half of senior year extremely difficult. Paired along with hard classes and ECs, yeah it will probably be harder. But then there are the kids in my school who take easy classes their senior year, making it easier for them

It’s easier, I hope. :)

I have a feeling it’s going to be super hard until December, then it’ll lighten up. But in May I’ll have IB exams. Guh.

^not if you ditch those exams. Lighten up man! Its senior year :)

^ LOL. You forget that many people here are overachievers. Me, I’m trying to be the first person in my school to get a 45 in the IB.

its harder of course, esp cuz college stuff can almost be like another class for awhile. once college stuff is done, so ur last trimester or quarter, or pretty laid back

Starfruit----really? Is it that important? they’re just ****ing IB exams lol no one will care once you graduate from HS. There are going to be so many exams in college and life—you can prove your superiority then. But come on, IB exams? seriously? you’re wasting your time (especially since its senior year). Have some fun!

^ Haha, don’t worry, I know how to have fun. It’s really not that big a deal - what I mean is, it’s not an inordinate amount of work for something I know I can get. I know they don’t “count” for college apps, but it’s a personal goal I’d like to attain.

senior year,ugh. too many aps

Easier.

You may need the senior year AP/IBs if you want to place out of intro classes, skip general education requirements, etc.
