<p>How much of a difference would it make if we had shadowing experience at the hospital versus if we don't when applying to the 8 year bs/md medical programs?</p>
<p>It's not an absolute requirement but it helps you figure out if you are really cut out for Medicine.</p>
<p>If you are absolutely not cut out for it, you will know with the first autopsy you observe, or the sight of pints of blood or the excised tissue in a Path lab.</p>
<p>I think Adcoms in direct med programs consider it to add a greater delta of confidence about your interest in Medicine.</p>
