Is showing interest really important?

I heard that Princeton (or most schools) do take note if you've visited the campus, etc.

I'm planning on visiting Princeton, but does it really matter? Does showing interest count in admissions, since Princeton is a super selective school? And does anyone know if campus visits will matter at other top schools?

No one in the admissions office will ever know you visited, so no.

why should princeton care? they have one of the highest yield rates in the country. only second rate schools care about factors like this.

HYPS don't care at all

sorry but when you go on a tour they only want your zip code...no name or otherwise personally indentifying information will be processed.

Actually, when I visited, they asked everyone to fill out a form with name, address, school, and academic and extracurricular interests. I doubt they really pay attention to it, though.

sometimes the interviewers ask you and may put it in thier letter or someting, but no one cares.

I didn't even give away my ZIP code.

cameliasinensis, that's weird I went twice and they never gave those out
