Is Smith's math and statistic good?

My major is math and I am considering whether apply to Smith or not.
Since it is a Liberal Art College, I cannot get the information about the ranking of its math department.
Anyone can help me? THX!

Did you check the post on math and stats earlier in this forum? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=196426

That said, I'm a math major and I think it's a good program, but I can't compare it to other schools. There are lots of opportunities for special studies if you're interested in an area that doesn't have a class, and so far I haven't had a prof in the department I didn't like.

I know a member of the class of '06 is going to MIT to pursue further mathematical study.

Otherwise, it's hard to give you an answer unless you have a specific question. As far as I know, the math department isn't ranked.

Thanks for ur reply borgin.
yes, ive read the eariler post of math and stats in this forum, but it seems like a discussion for girls who R studying at Smith.

well, i wanna have a applied math major which focuses on ECO or Eco math modeling.

But when i visit the official website of smith math department, the research projects are all about pure math.Phyllotaxis,Posets of Involutions in Weyl Groups,Bouncing Inside a Triangle and so forth.
