Is social life/girls really that bad?

Carnegie Mellon seems like the perfect university for me but they only thing that is holding me back is social life. Is the social life/girls really that bad or does it just get bad rep.

The girls are about the same quality as the guys, there's just fewer of them.

There's plenty of cool people to go to parties, go clubbing, hanging out and playing video games, or whatever you like to do. And, if you get desperate to find a girl, there's always Pitt right down the street and Dusquesne a short bus ride away.

CMU gets unnecessary bad rep. I love the social life here.

the reason why the social life isnt the best at cmu is because the administration is really hard on the frats. like if the frat parties get a little bit out of control, they are immediately put on probation. but hey if you want an awesome social life, i suggest you hop on down to the pitt parties down the street. theyre always drunk idiots going around mcdonalds and pitt and there always is something down there.

as for the girls, theyre getting better every year after year. and the ratio is getting better year after year. if im correct, now its like 56 to 44. it used to be 60 to 40 a few years ago.

I heard the girls actually shave their legs this year.

eh the social scene isn't the worst. If youre looking for a party scene and youre a dude, you pretty much have to go greek or be on a varsity sports team. I came here with the same worries, but have definitely had fun so far. If you want something to do you canalways find it.

My friends and I called this CMU-itis (I've also heard it called CMU Goggles). That is, every year you spent at CMU the hotter the incoming class looks because you're so used to the same...uhh...blah-looking faces around campus that anything else will seem attractive.

I will say that the people were better looking at CMU than they are here at Caltech, though. :p
