I was interested in econ major but now after taking the course for few wks guess not. Thinking about sociology now. Does anyone here give any comments about this major. I am really concerned about GPA and want to have time to study LSAT during school yr from maybe starting my Junior, would sociology major give me some freedom to do this? I mean is this major demanding at stanford generally?. Econ seems very demanding here and no matter how much I try I think it will be very hard for me to pull a good GPA for top law school.

"Fuzzy" majors at Stanford are generally easier on GPA than sciences, engineering or econ.

On the other hand, it is really a shame to go to Stanford, and choose your major solely based on potential GPA... Maybe Econ is not for you, but find something you really enjoy, don't just choose sociology because you think it will leave you enough time to study for LSAT. I know someone who almost flunked out first quarter trying to be a premed (GPA<2), and still graduated with distinction majoring in History and Asian Studies (or something similar). It is harder to get good grades in subjects you don't really like.

Ya true but I really like all subjects except for maybe science( chem, physics, bio ) so I have many options to choose. But like for eco eventhogh I like it,just seem hard to pull a A thats all. anyway thanks for your advice
