I'm a sophomore in high school. I play an watch almost every sport and I hope to be either a coach, manager, agent, etc. I've always thought that the sports management major would be te right path, but when I looked up some of the jobs people pursue, none of my choices was there. it mentioned some jobs in organizations, such as ticket sales, but I'd rather be a coach or general manager of a sports team. but then I don't know if sports management would be the right path for a coach or agent. if not what major would be?

I believe physical education and kinesiology are common for coaches…
For coaching at the HS level, you’d probably need a teaching degree.

As for agents, I believe sports management is fine… IF you can find a school with a strong program. If not, business management or marketing are common. You’ll also find that many agents have degrees in law.

Don’t quote me on any of this.

If you want to be an agent, you should go to law school
