Is Sri Lankan a URM?

I am a Sri Lankan and was wondering whether it is URM?

Underrepresented minorities (URM) refers to American racial and ethnic groups like Native Americans, African Americans, and Hispanic Americans (particularly Mexican Americans and Puerto Ricans) who are underrepresented in a college compared to their prevalence in the U.S. population.

As a Sri Lankan, you would be considered an International Applicant, not a URM.

No I am a Sri Lankan living in Sri lanka…lol

Yeah Gibby’s comment still stands. You wouldn’t be considered a URM but an international applicant. Which is veryyyy different. haha.

Lol my bad, I am a Sri Lankan living in America…typo:D

The single biggest issue is are you a US citizen or do you have permanent residency (green card). If so, great. If not, you’re in the hyper competitive International pool.

I am a Sri Lankan with US Citizenship.

Then that allows you to be in the much-better odds domestic pool. However, no URM consideration as has been previously mentioned.
