Is SSP worth it?

Hi, I've recently been looking for some good summer programs and came across Harvard's Summer School Secondary School Program. It seems quite nice, but has a hefty price tag. Will it increase my chances of being accepted at Harvard or anywhere for that matter? Thanks.

.......no. It's an experience.

If you're willing to blow $9,000 or whatever it costs, go for it, but honestly, there are so many other things you can do over your summer to differentiate yourself from other applicants than that. It may help a little, but more often than not, it means close to nothing. But if you're interested, go for it, and good luck.

If you have nothing better else to do (their deadline is pretty late) then go. It is really an experience: you get to experience teh real college life adn take the classes that give a small insight of what you have to face in college. Plus, at your Harvard interview you have SO much to talk about and seem absolutely genuine. I would say, if you have the time and money, go.

Yeah--I probably won't go. I'll probably spend my summer volunteering at a local hospital, and (hopefully) at a bioengineering lab. I'll do something more productive next summer.

congrats on 100 posts, sphybrid!

thanks! didn't even notice. -end posts-
