Got a letter from Stanford, saying I was the one student to be invited, etc. etc. but to cut to the chase, what are your opinions on this program? I’m pouring my heart and soul into TASP currently, but as a backup I am searching for other things if need be, and I got this letter. It certainly looks official but whether or not its worth it, thats something else… thoughts?
Don’t kid yourself - you are not “the one student to be invited” to that program. First of all, it has nothing to do with Stanford’s admissions process and is run by a for-profit company called “Envision” that has enlisted a few Stanford Law profs to work with the kids. Don’t get me wrong, it’s probably a fine program, but it ain’t TASP.
My D did TASP and it was amazing. Her backup plans were either a summer college course in Paris or The Summer Humanities Institute at Carleton that looked quite interesting:

Stanford also runs a Summer Humanities Institute. I wouldn’t do it looking for an admissions boost for Stanford (or any other school) and it’s kinda pricey, but it might be interesting:

If you’re looking for a Law/Advocacy/Mock Trial sort of experience, there are some good programs for those (the one you inquired about might be good; UCLA has a Mock Trial Summer Institute; Furman has Top Mock).
It’s a good thing I threw away that LOL
@kungfukennny, my son did the UCLA Mock Trial Summer Institute and really enjoyed it. Feel free to msg me if you have any questions. It’s one week long.
