I never did Study Abroad. Will it hurt my chances at getting into a top 30 Law School? Or it does not matter as long as I maintain my high GPA and excel in the LSAT?
Thanks

It doesn’t matter. Studying abroad (assuming you did well and took relevant classes) can help law school admissions, but not studying abroad doesn’t hurt you.

That is sort of a silly question. Sorry. The better question is whether law schools like gravitas, experience, maturity and an open perspective? The answer to that is a resounding YES. Thus, if you are a greenhorn undergrad with little but an LSAT and gpa, you need correspondingly higher scores and grades to make up for the lack of experience and maturity. The average age of law students is not 22, its more like 24 and sometimes higher. If at first you don’t succeed, try again.

Why do law schools like this? Because law firms like it. And they like it because clients like it. Clients want to know if the attorney on the case is sufficiently mature and has the right amount of experience to understand the issues, the risks and the opposition. Its that simple.
