I have really wanted to study abroad and I actually got accepted to do so in Spain this fall. The thing is that it's kind of expensive for me. The financial adviser estimated the grand total to be around $21,800 which included tuition, airfare, housing, and an estimate of personal expenses. Since all my financial aid can be applied, it would come down to a $5,500-6,000 tab.

I know that sounds good (it's actually around what I pay per semester now), but that's a lot for me given that I'm in a tight spot with money just to go to school. Next year, I would pay around $5,000 for the entire year. If I do go, I'd be on a tight budget and Europe is expensive. Is it worth the money?

The program is basically my university in Madrid, take the same classes I would here over there. I'm a double major in public relations and spanish and while it will help my spanish major, I won't take any classes for public relations at all. I'm also Hispanic and fluent in spanish. It's a different culture and dialect to what I know, but it's still the same language. Summer programs are a no-go for me because financial aid doesn't cover summer programs and they'd be way over the $5000 mark.

What should I do? I want to go, but is the experience worth the money or should I just hope I go sometime in the future, like a vacation? Is it worth it, will it be super beneficial to me? I know there's the experience aspect, but is it worth nearly half a grnd?
