The Pomona booklet in the Admissions office states that if a students has a large # of AP's or IB's, he should talk about transferring in as a sophmore. However we were told in the info session that they only accept 2 AP's or IB's now. But they can test into a higher level course.
My d has had 2 AP chem's & bio's , will they have enough advanced chems & bio's for her if she wants to persue more?

The APs only cover the introductory class. There should be plenty of classes for her to take, especially considering she can also take at the other 4 schools.

For a top school, the AP classes are often not quite equivalent to the intro classes, which is why some schools prefer you test out of classes.

My daughter currently has 9 AP classes. She plans to take only one exam in May (although she is taking 4 APs) and that is Latin, because it is used for placement.

The only class you can test into if you took AP chem is Chem 51, which is an advanced (and very difficult, if the many nights my hallmate spent studying for it are any indication) version of intro compressed into one semester.

I get the impression that Chem upperclassmen do tend to take some courses at Mudd.

Here are the Chem course offerings:

As for Biology, I really doubt that your daughter will be wanting for courses!

Thanks. Are there good bio research projects? Such as?
