SUNY buffalo recently sent me information about the school via mail(i didnt request info).I'm out of state,NJ,and don't know much about the school, but judging by the "chance me" post's in the schools' section, the students seem to be bright. So if anyone can give me a little info(is the campus nice, average stat's) i would really appreciate it.

Son goes to SUNY Buffalo. Likes the school. It seems to be a good choice for him. It is the largest of the SUNYs and the most comprehensive with strong departments and strong graduate school support as the med school, dental school, law school, grad schools are all there. The facilities are new and top notch in my opinion. Biggest problem I see there is that there are many commuter/suitcase students and not many out of staters. If they could change the demographics which I think they are trying to do, it can be a great flagship school for NY. Also, the school has some good merit aid and an honors program that has perks for kids who make that cut.

My D is a rising freshman and very excited about UB. She will be in the Honors College and was fortunate to receive a full tuition scholarship. I have been very impressed by what we have learned about the school, and by reports from very satisfied students and families.

The campus is very close to Buffalo. It's on the outskirts but definitely in a good area of Buffalo. It's residential for the most part and has a thriving campus life. The Honors program is definitely something to look into as orchestramom reported! =]

I recently got messages from there on *****.com as well so I was wondering too.
Thanks for all the people who gave info. =)
Is it a hard-to-get-into kind of college or an average one?

My son is at Buffalo. He is a freshman majoring in engineering. They have a ranked engineering program which is highly regarded which is why he choose it over some similarly regarded programs which were more expensive.

I have only heard about very happy students and that seems to be the case. Son made friends quickly. He has a difficult curriculum and lots of school work. It seems like he is spending a lot of time in class/library and homework (due to his major) but also finds time for socializing and fun.

We are very impressed with the activities, speakers, etc that have come or are coming to campus this year. Many events and tickets are free for the students.

Many alumni in professional areas.

I would not disregard UB.

If you want to check out airport access, google Niagara Buffalo Airport and check the incoming or outgoing flight schedule. Lots of lights to NY area though I didn’t look for Newark.
