This is a quick question to either calm or amplify my nerves: is it generally easy to get into TAMS? I have good grades and I live in Lewisville. Obviously, I have put a LOT more thought into wanting to apply to TAMS than this and I've talked to my counselor and teachers, written an application, and have visited the school, but just overall, is it difficult to get in? What are the chances, statistically speaking? How much will living in Lewisville hurt me?

The average Math SAT score for Fall 2013 admits was 706, and it’s sometimes as high as 720. Yes, I’d say it’s difficult to get in. And stay in - since you’re taking honors-university classes.
Statistics paint the wrong picture, since they may be accepting a larger percentage. But - fewer are applying, and the average SAT scores (both applicants and admits) are increasing. So… I’d say it’s getting harder to get in. I think high school counselors are only suggesting it to their very-high-achieving students now.

It is fairly easy to gain admission to. An average SAT score of just above 700 is not very high.

“An average SAT score of just above 700 <in every=”" subject=""> is not very high."
Granted, for a senior it isn’t very high. But to make the application deadlines you must take the SATs very early in your Sophomore year. Not many high-school Freshmen have completed Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II.</in>

The SATs can be given several times during the year. I don’t think most people take the SAT in their early sophomore year.

yeah, but to apply for tams, you have to take in your sophmore year

This year’s entering Juniors had an average SAT score (Reading and Math only) of close to 1400.
