<p>Can international applicants who are admitted postpone there studies by a year?..
let's say I get accepted for 2010 and I want to start at 2011.
Is that possible?...</p>

<p>You would have to put in a written request with your plans to the Dean of Admissions, but as long as you have a plan, your request will almost certainly be granted. MIT is very encouraging of gap years.</p>
