Is that possible to live on campus but waive BU Meal Plans

My daughter is a fresh man in BU and was required to live on campus for all 4 years. She has been having trouble with BU Meal Plans. The food makes her stomach upset and the long line pushed her away many times to a nearby fast food store. It is nearing the end of the school year and she still have a sizable meal swipes left. The unused meals would have to be wasted and I really hate wasting although we probably don’t have other choices for this year. I’m wondering if it is possible to live on campus but waive BU Meal Plans or at least buy a lighter meal plan? Any feedback or recommendation would be appreciated!

She is currently on 330 plan and we are considering switch to 250 plan next year.

Is she in a sport that requires her to live on campus? Why is she required to live on campus past freshman year?
It looks like some meal plan is required for those who live on campus, and all but the 350 seem to be the same price!

@jym626 ,

Thank you for your comment. Her scholarship requires her to live on campus. I don’t see a 350 plan here http://www.bu.edu/housing/dining/plans/?

Any one know of Apartment meal plan? Is living in a Apartment style on campus overall better financially?

Apologies- typo. There is , as you said, a 250 and a 330. I mistyped (conflated 250 and 330). Apologies. But they are the same price. Its the unlimited plan that costs more. I am trying to type and watch CNN at the same time. Big mistake :slight_smile:

Here is this year’s rates. Not sure about next year’s. https://www.bu.edu/dining/plans-points/. Looks like you’ll get credited for half the value of the remaining points on your account. At least that’s something.

At most colleges you must have a meal plan if you live on campus and at BU it’s pricy

If you live in an on campus apartment, StuVi I and II and some brownstones, a meal plan is not required.
