Is the 3:2 program worth it?

I’ve heard a lot of mixed things about it, but could you guys provide some insight into the pros and cons? I’m pretty interested in doing it, but am concerned about the cost.

3:2 Engineering program

I knew one person who did it and they thought they were better prepared and better rounded before getting dropped into the engineering curriculum. I think the downside would be moving on a year early if you’ve made friends and that you pay Columbia tuition while you are there.

@IzzoOne it’s a bachelors in engineering at Columbia right? In addition to bachelors at W&M?

I believe so: http://www.wm.edu/as/undergraduate/curriculum/special/engineering/

@exoheat11 if it works for you, it is a pretty good deal in a way if you think about it. Ivy degree with only 2 years Ivy tuition and not having to go through the ridiculous 7% accept rate. You’d have to meet the coursework criteria, but I’m sure it is doable.

I checked it after I sent it. 6% acceptance rate.

@IzzoOne either way, the odds are NOT in the students favor haha, thank you!
