Is the ACT

ever preferable to the SAT, in the viewpoint of a college?

I'm just wondering. I don't think I'll take the ACT, but I just want to make sure before I finally decide.

Depends on the school. Some do prefer one over the other as they are more familiar with the SAT and College Board has not issued a concordance scale for SAT and ACT scores. Alternatively, some schools prefer the ACT, since they are more familiar- yep redundant- you know what I mean.

Only one school in the country does not except the ACT, so you can generalize that the ACT is considered the same as the SAT. Although, if a school really does have a preference, they will never admit to it, so there really is no point in worrying about it.

Every college now accepts the ACT.
