is the Blue Book too easy?

Title kinda explains but when I took the real SAT I got 13 questions wrong over all 3 reading sections. When I started reviewing this summer I kept getting around 9-14 wrong in the PR 11 sat test book. However, I just started doing the review book and got only 5 wrong over all three CR sections. Is the BB going to be consistent with the real SAT or is it merely for confidence boost?

BB is as accurate as it’s going to get. If you think it’s too easy, well, good for you.

yes. i was wondering about that too!
but i also heard that the blue book has questions from the real sat and is made by the real SAT makers…???

I don’t know what you mean by real questions… I mean, the exact questions aren’t going to appear on your SAT but like I said before, it’s as close as it’s going to get. And yes, the BB is made by the “real SAT makers”, or the ETS

But if the PR was getting closer to what I got on my real SAT then shouldn’t that be more accurate? I doubt I would go from 13 wrong to 5 wrong over the course of 1 month

^ You could’ve easily found that reading test a lot easier than when you took the original SAT. I wouldn’t make any assumptions on the difficulty of the blue book after completing one practice test.

Are you using the second edition?

@mrs weasley- I’m using my brothers old SAT BB and it calls it the “New SAT for March 2005 and beyond” so I’m assuming the 1st edition?

@Eg2333- I took another three CR sections today and got only 6 wrong =/

There have been changes to the test since 2005. Try the online practice test at the collegeboard site and see how you do.

@Cacciato: Maybe you just had a bad day when you took the real SAT. If anything, the blue book is definitely more accurate than PR because all of the questions are real questions from previous SAT releases.

oh ok thanks! That helps! Should I get the latest edition of the book? Are the changes meaning completely different questions or are they just subtle changes?

Your BB score should be much more accurate than your PR score. I scored significantly worse on it than I did on the BB tests. I don’t think the newer tests are more accurate than the old ones, but I’ve only taken one test from each, so I can’t really make a completely accurate assessment on that. If anything, I felt that the newer tests were actually more straightforward than the ones in the BB, so they were much easier. Who knows, maybe you were having a bad test day?

its designed to help u get good sat score lol
i think
