Is the date of your application submission a factor in admissions?

Do colleges (with NO rolling-admissions) take into account when you submitted your application?

One would think that...submitting your application a month before the due date may indicate a desirable character trait -- as opposed to someone who waited til the night before..

right?

It’s doubtful that they care about something like this. There are lots of reasons for an application to be submitted early, just before the deadline, or late. It would be silly to guess at them.

This is useless anecdotal evidence, but I was accepted to the three schools that I submitted my application to the night before the deadline but only accepted to three out of six schools that I submitted my application to well in advance.

"may indicate a desirable character trait " straw grasping in extremis.

Why should they devote an iota of this when your file isn’t complete until your school docs are processed – something that has nothing to do with you?
