Is the deadline 11/29 11:59pm or 11/30 11:59pm?

I think it's 11/30, but just in case..

It’s tomorrow.

11/30 11:59

The UC application website says this:

“Tick tock: Time is running out. Submit your application today! Deadline is November 30.”

So it seems the deadline is midnight tonight.

It’s not tonight. Ive submitted it after high school too. Its nov 30th 11:59 for sure.

@Mik194

I see. Maybe the UC application website was saying that to get more people to submit it before tomorrow in a vain attempt to prevent the inevitable site crash/slowing down tomorrow.

LOL, I saw that too. “Tick tock.” I finally submitted mp apps. Feels pretty good. Going to go drink and celebrate! Good luck to us all.

@Snorlaz

Good! It does feel great after submitting. Good luck to you to, man. What school do you want to transfer to most?

“Due by Nov. 30” means, guess what …

Due by Nov. 30.

This is not rocket science.

Whenever colleges list a certain date (11/30, for instance) as the deadline for applications, they mean that day at 11:59. This is universal.

It’s “universal” because there is only one November 30 per year.
It’s the day after November 29 and the day before December 1.

If an application is due by November 30, it is due November 30.

If an application is due on “Nov. 29 at 11:59pm,” then the web site would say “due by November 29.”

As a side note, I know why some HS students are confused by this. (I mean other than the fact that they can’t tell time or read a calendar.)
They are confusing a specific moment in time (such as a curfew) with a “deadline” that exists on, and through, a particular day.

For example, if a parent says “be home by 11:00,” the child knows that anything up to 11 o’clock is ok and even one minute after 11:00 is “past curfew.”

A deadline is not the same thing.
But kids are getting confused between the two.

Everyone bashing on not knowing what day it’s due-- calm down.
We’re in a stressful process over here. Freaking out is natural and making sure everything is right is crucial. I even got some texts from friends asking to make sure what day/time it’s due. So just answer the question and leave.

Apparently now it’s Dec 1st for people who started the app before 11:59 November 30!!!

@ivelosthope

I don’t know why they extended the deadline, but I’m sure many applicants will appreciate that.

Where does it say they extended it?

@Mik194

After you log in you’ll see the notice that they’ve extended it.
