Someone told me early deadline was early action, but I haven't seen any evidence on the website. I need to know or else I might not be eligible for Stanford-SCEA...

Take a close look at the Stanford website. You should should find that, assuming you are a NC resident, there is an exception since UNC's early action is non-binding.

No, it's not considered early action or early decision. It is just an earlier deadline. Something is only considered early action or early decision if you get a decision in December. The first deadline decisions come out mid-January 2009.

nickel75 are you 100% sure about this? Because I would like to apply for the earlier deadline if I can, but i don't want to do anything to jeopardize my ED application at another school (which specifies that I cannot apply ED or EA anywhere else).

Help?

Nevermind, I talked to an admissions officer at my ED school and she said it was fine since I wouldn't get UNC's reply until January.
